NrcBF and Oslo Modellbilklubb have the great pleasure of inviting you to the EFRA Grand Prix Race in 1999, to be held in Oslo, Norway. This is a challenging and very well kept track. There are superb opportunities for bathing and recreation close to the track. This is going to be an event to remember! Welcome - and please inform your friends!

About Oslo Modellbilklubb:

By far the largest RC-car club in Norway. The club is in significant growth, it has increased the number of members from 80 to 200 in the last year. The club had it's 20 year anniversary in 1998.

In case you didn't know there is only 4,6 million people in this big country. The capital in Norway is Oslo.

The track is called Hverven Raceway. It is a permanent track made of drain asphalt with a lenght of approx. 250 meters. The asphalt was resurfaced last year, and is of high quality - no bumps. The track is driven in an anti-clockwise direction. The asphalt and the surroundings such as grass, fences etc. are held in good condition. The track is fast, yet very demanding. A lot of racers claim that if you're fast on this track, you're fast anywhere! Take a look at the track layout. The track record is currently being held by Frank Andersen. Lap time: 13:90 sek, set 6. september 1998.

The pit area has 230 V AC outlets, and is shielded against sun and rain. The pit area will be significantly extended for this event.

Designated area with air compressor for cleaning of the model racing cars.

The timekeeping and technical control is done in a two storeys high building beside the track.

Kiosk and Cafeteria with hot food and snacks. The kiosk is placed close tothe track whilst the cafeteria is placed in the MotorCentre a few steps uphill from the track.

Several toilets with sinks. Showers are also available.

Benches, chairs and tables for recreation.

Plenty of parking spaces by the track.

Tusenfryd
This is the biggest amusement park in Norway. Situated only 10 minutes from the track, at Vinterbro.
Vikingland
A reconstuction of how it was when the Norwegians ruled the world. The web site is in english. Situated only 10 minutes from the track, beside the amusement park.
Restaurants
Restaurant "Villa Sandviken": 5 minutes from the track by car. Serves excellent food.

There are several interesting museums to visit in Oslo.

How to get there:

How to get to Oslo
By air: Gardermoen Airport (Fornebu Airport is now closed). Gardermoen is situated approx. 60 km north of the track. Approx. 45 minutes drive. Follow E6 to Oslo, then "Gøteborg" (Gothenburg), then "Stockholm". Take off at sign to "Fjordcamp". Take right in the roundabout. You will then pass the camping on your left side and the beach on your right side. A few hundered meters further you take left uphill at a sign that says "Motorsenteret". Do not take right in the T-crossing right before the sign.
By car: You can bring your car by boat from Kiel, Copenhagen or Hirtshals. Here are some links to ferry companies:

The track is situated approx. 11 km south from the center of Oslo, on the east side of the Oslo fjord. Approx. 15 minutes drive.
From the north: Follow E18 southbound. Follow signs to "Gøteborg" (Gothenburg). Take to the right at sign that says "Fjordcamp". Take right in the roundabout. You will then pass the camping on your left side and the beach on your right side. A few hundered meters further you take left uphill at a sign that says "Motorsenteret". Do not take right in the T-crossing right before the sign.
From the south: Follow E18 northbound. Follow signs to "Oslo". Take off to the right at sign that says "Fjordcamp". Take left in the first roundabout and drive straight through the second one. You will then pass the camping on your left side and the beach on your right side. A few hundered meters further you take left uphill at a sign that says "Motorsenteret". Do not take right in the T-crossing right before the sign.
